How we work

At the very foundation of this work is the belief that health is inherent and never lost. It is only obscured by our life experiences and past conditioning.Life is a relational experience, and many of our joys and suffering are a result of our relationships with the world. This points to the importance of the relationship between the therapist and client, and joint practice refers to the commitment-to-experience by both the therapist and the client.

Bernadette’s holistic counselling integrates aura reading, conversational therapy, and hands on work/healing.

 Presence, if held in clarity and mindfulness, becomes the holding field where embodied awareness is the natural result. An embodied awareness is awareness that is not only cognitive, but also experienced in the body. It is a whole, coherent experience, un-fragmented and non-dualistic, and can be experienced as a kind of inner knowing. It is this knowing that is curative.

 

No one imagines that a symphony is supposed to improve in quality as it goes along, or that the whole object of playing it is to reach the finale. The point of music is discovered in every moment of playing and listening to it. It is the same, I feel, with the greater part of our lives, and if we are unduly absorbed in improving them we may forget altogether to live them.
